Has anyone used the onsite kennel? by coastgirl | 2013-02-09 08:16:11 |

Duplo 7 Posts | Hello folks. Just found this site, and I am looking forward to exploring more!
I read that there is an on-site kennel. We will be travelling with our small dog, and we are staying in Orlando. Because the trip to Winter Haven will keep us out all day, I'd like to take the dog rather than leave her that long at our rental villa. Has any one used the kennel? She's a shy girl, and if it's very noisy or busy, I'll have to reconsider the plan.
Thanks for any help you can provide. |   | -------------------- First visit planned for August 2013 |

The FAQ on Legoland's website says to check with Guest Services for deposit information. (But the thing is, GS is inside the park but you can't take your pet past the entrance gates.)
So I'd ask someone in the ticket booths for help on that.
I'd be curious to know how the kennel experience is for you. |   | -------------------- Visit my YouTube channel for Legoland Adventures!

Duplo 7 Posts | Thanks Ed...I'd prefer to find something in Winter Haven, so we can take the pup and make a day of it. Otherwise it's two more hours she's in a kennel. The kennel at Lego Land, though, I have confirmed, is not staffed. I'm not comfortable with that.
We are staying in a villa during our trip, and because we have two weeks in Orlando we don't plan any long days away from her. She's very comfortable in her crate while we are out during the day, and she should be alone 5 hrs max any other day. It's just the day to drive to Legoland and back...I expect we'll be out of the house 8-10 hours that day, 6-7 at the park itself. I am googling for "doggie day care, Winter Haven", but so far nothing is jumping out at me. |   | -------------------- First visit planned for August 2013 |

Lego Star V 956 Posts | I don't know what quality of kennel you will find in Winter Haven, but I would bet any dog would not mind spending 2 or 3 hours extra hours in one of the below kennels not to mention your peace of mind. Good luck!

--Guest-- | Just returned from Legoland and put my 8 lb dachshund in the kennel for the entire day on Sunday 9/1/13 and she was totally fine. It is completely self service, first you go to the ticket window, pay a $15.00 dep (I used a credit card and they will only process the card if you don't return the lock). The ticket booth was on the right (you don't need to go to guest services) and the kennel is a pathway off to the left when you are directly under the giant entrance sign. There are 10 or 12? long fenced in on 4 sides runs, similar to the ones in an animal shelter. They say to bring your own bowls, but every one of them had bowls in them and there is a water hose to fill the bowl. It is shaded on 3 sides and has very large fans blowing (a little loud if your dog is skitterish with noises,(no ac), but I think it was completely comfortable all day for her. It is best to always have your dog up to date on vaccines to protect other dogs but there is no one there that checks. When I dropped her off at 9:30am, she was the only dog and when I picked her up at 5:30, there were 3 other dogs. The person I spoke to on the phone said he didn't think that it had ever been completely filled up. It was great as far as I am concerned and the best part is it was FREE! |

Duplo 1 Posts | My dog spent the day at a local Dog Sitter only 7 miles from Legoland. Drop off as early as 7 AM Weekdays and pick up is between 7-8 PM. For just $17 my dog had constant personalized attention and supervision, got to play with other dogs, had 6 outdoor potty breaks and yard time (fenced yard). My dog was fed her meals there and I received a couple texts with photos throughout the day so I could put my mind at ease and enjoy my Grandchildren. My little one was very tired when I picked her up. The Host's name is Lori and you can read her many 5-Star reviews at this LINK. I highly recommend her services and will use them again. You can also save $10 on your first visit by signing up with the link above. |
