Ok, I've been looking at the areas they have for the CA park:
1. Tatoonie - Features the Mos Eisley spaceport with Millennium Falcon, the Cantina, the Lars homestead with Sandcrawler.
2. Hoth - Includes the Battle of Hoth with Echo Base, some AT-ATs, the Wampa cave, lots of Snowspeeders and an X-Wing.
3. Mustafar - Features Obi-Wan and Anakin's battle near the structure with the Naboo ship parked.
4. Geonosis - Includes the arena (at a smaller scale) the creatures Acklay, Nexu, and Reek, the Battle of Geonosis with launching troop transports, a giant Turbo Tank, and scores of clone troopers vs. droids.
5. Naboo - Displays the battle between the Gunguns and the droid army. Also includes the Naboo hangar with "launching" starfighter and a small window showing Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul. Also shows the Gungun Bongo ship being attacked by the underwater fish.
6. Kashyyyk - Show the battle of the droid ships coming out of the water.
7. Endor - Includes the landing platform with Imperial Shuttle, the giant shield generator, the smaller "back door" where most of the action takes place, the Ewok village, several AT-STs, etc.
8. Christophis - Some battle from the Clone Wars cartoon that includes some large building and droid vs. clones ships.
9. They also have several giant size minifigs including: Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Yoda, R2-D2, Anakin, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Darth Maul...
Here's a pretty good video that covers the whole thing:
A couple of things I'd like to see at the Florida version:
1. Dagobagh - Yeah, sure. There's no battle that takes place there, but it's certainly the site of some memorable scenes!
2. Cloud City - Wow, no lightsabre battle of Luke and Vader? No Han Solo being encased in carbonite? How did this location not make it?
3. The Death Star - Gee, nearly 40% of A New Hope is here. Certainly some great scenes could be re-enacted? Also, they could include some TIE Fighters and X-Wings battling it out in space...
4. Jabba's Palace - Wow, that could have been included on the Tatooine section. Plus the battle over the Sarlacc!
5. Coruscant - Sure, it's as boring as the prequels, but seeing the giant buildings, the Jedi Temple, and the Senate building would be cool. Plus they could re-enact the chase between Anakin/Obi-Wan and Zam Wesell.
7 of the 8 areas feature some repetitive battlefield of good vs. bad. I hope they de-emphasize some of these and show some more variety for the Florida version!
I hear rumblings of a soon-to-come announcement and some big wigs are in town... Pirate Shores or Star Wars Miniland? My guess is SW Miniland because Pirate Shores will likely take longer to complete...
So... My guess is that this will be open by November!

In two days’ time in a galaxy 45 minutes away… the esteemed Council of LEGOLAND® Florida will reveal a top-secret expansion taking place within the park in the year 2012. Under fear of retaliation from a certain sinister robed leader who must remain unnamed, no further details as to the nature of this expansion may be shared before this time.
WINTER HAVEN | Legoland Florida announced plans today for a new "Star Wars" themed section of the attraction.
Called Lego "Star Wars" Miniland Cluster, the section will include a scene from each of the six “Star Wars” movies and a scene from the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” with each scene built with Lego bricks, Legoland Florida General Manager Adrian Jones said.
The section will follow a chronological path through the "Star Wars" timeline. Some of the 2,000 Lego models will be more than 6 feet high. Visitors will be able to activate animations throughout the scenes using interactive buttons.
Jones said during a press conference today that the new section should be complete by November.
Talked to one of the two the master builders yesterday... No death star... basically due to the scale it would require to make it
Well, obviously a 1:20 Death Star wouldn't work. But they could have included a smaller one, perhaps in a forced perspective, up in the sky somewhere. Maybe the one from Return of the Jedi in the Endor sky?
Or create a cut-away one with scenes from the movie, kind of like this one:
Was at the park yesterday... Star Wars Miniland looks about the same, really. I guess there's not much to do before getting the models in place. (Assuming they already have the water pipes and electric in the ground.)
Edit: Was re-reading my first post... Something obvious we won't be getting from the CA park is the underwater sequence from Episode I. Not enough elevation in that area to have it. Bummer.
I *HOPE* they do make some unique additions to our version though. A Cloud City carbonite chamber or Dagobah area would be my top choices. (Then again, an exterior of Jabba's Palace would be pretty easy to do and install in the Tatooine area.)
I understand that Legoland is prepping for some special guests... Nothing to do with George Lucas or any other cast members though. This is for something else...
It would be my pleasure to do that, Greg, but I just noticed that the land will open on November 9, which is a Friday. That means that... I will work at Epcot. I wish I looked at the calendar before!

The wife said she ran into Adrian this morning. He said that Star Wars Miniland was done and ready for Friday! So if anyone goes before Friday they can take a peek over the fence and see the completed product!
A couple of differences between ours and LL California:
In Tatooine, they have a Sandcrawler. Maybe our area wasn't big enough for it?
Their Mustafar area looks more realistic and it has Anakin's Starfighter parked. (This is an easy one so maybe it just wasn't ready yet?)
In Naboo there's a more elaborate waterfall but probably the most noticeable thing they have is the underwater sequence.
They also have several giant minifig models that we don't have (yet?)
There are just a couple of things I see that we have that the CA park doesn't. Naturally the life sized models Darth Vader, R2-D2, and Darth Maul. (I guess they could have those too, but I've not seen any in photos or videos.)
In our Hoth area the bacta tank Luke is in is much easier to see.
In the Naboo area it's easier to see the Qui-Gon vs. Maul duel.
Of course... There's some areas ripe for expansion already... I've already staked out where Dagobah should be.
They definitely should add an under construction Death Star suspended from a tree over the Endor area. At least it would simulate what it would look like from orbit to a ground dweller.
