News for March 2013
It's finally official! Legoland Florida will be the home of 'The World of Chima!' Check this out!
Legoland Florida has changed their pricing for Florida resident annual passes! Now it's just $99 for adults or kids and that INCLUDES free parking, admission to both the main park and the water park, 10% discounts on food/merch, and free admission to other US based Merlin attractions (like Legoland California, Discovery Zone, Madame Tousouds, etc.) What an AWESOME DEAL ($60 off the original price!) (And no, I don't get paid by Legoland to promote this info!)
After seeing this video, we're pretty confident that the new area will be themed as a "Legends of Chima." Check it out.
This image could be a hint to what this area might look like:
Construction for the new area is progressing nicely! See the photos below.
The new expansion is underway! Originally this was going to be called "Pirate Shores" and follow a pirate theme, however some sources claim this has changed!
A tidbit of news about the future Legoland Hotel. We're even more sure that it's going to be built on the lake (in the old animal area) and be a bit smaller than the California one. More info here!
Well, it's nearly official! According to this Lakeland Ledger PR Legoland Florida is holding a press conference on Thursday and they are exptected to announce Star Wars Miniland! Based on what we've seen from the California park, we expect this to be completed sometime in November, which is 3 months after the announcement!
Some more new construction was brought to our attention by Orlando Theme Park News! Check out this trip report which shows new construction in Miniland (for Star Wars no doubt) and what we think will be a new restuarant in Lego City! Discuss here!
Thanks for your support! We earned a spot in the top 5 which was enough to win a prize pack! And honestly, I think this was the best photo!
Some new signage around the park, but not much else. Oh, and they are attempting to reduce the lines by mandating 2 riders only on certain rides (Wave Racers and Boating School for example.) Also, Wave Racers has been slowed down to the point where it's rather dull. I thought this Technic area was for slightly older riders? Anyway, here's my thoughts on the matter.
